Episode 183- Author Gigi Langer
/Episode 183 I am so excited to share with you all my conversation with Gigi Langer the author of "50 Ways to Worry Less Now".
Before landing at Stanford for her doctoral studies, Gigi Langer competed in show jumping, hitchhiked across Spain, and taught middle school French and Spanish. In her second marriage, she continued her adventures by studying and giving riding lessons in Brazil, Hawaii, and Germany.
After securing a position at Eastern Michigan University, Gigi married again. She thought she had it made, but soon found herself facing a third divorce along with a growing alcohol and marijuana problem. Her chronic worry, substance abuse, and relationship failures brought her life to a screeching halt.
Since then, Gigi has applied strategies from recovery, therapy, and a variety of scientific and spiritual approaches to overcome her addictions and self-defeating patterns. She’s now a pillar of the recovery community and an award-winning educator and author. Gigi’s retreats, workshops, and presentations have helped thousands of people thrive in their work and homes.
In February 2018, Gigi put everything she’s learned into “50 Ways to Worry Less Now: Reject Negative Thinking to Find Peace, Clarity, and Connection.” The book won the Indie Excellence Award, rates 5 stars on Amazon, and received rave reviews from Publisher’s Weekly, Library Journal, and Midwest Book Review.
