Episode 417- Echoes of Hope: Jinhyun Shin’s Mission to Prevent Suicides

After speaking to Jinhyun for a couple of minutes I knew I wanted to have him on the podcast.

Jinhyun had his first experience really helping others at 15 years old! He had a friend that was in dire need. A mutual friend was contemplating suicide and knew that Jinhyun could help!

Today, many years later Jinhyun is a mental wellness coach and entrepreneur.

Jinhyun knows that his calling in life is to help prevent suicides.

As a mental health entrepreneur, he is one of many who are trying to help destigmatize mental health. As a coach, he explores where loneliness has disconnected us from the communities we love and provides language to reconnect.

It was such a pleasure meeting Jinhyun Shin. I promise you will love his story!

Angela Pugh has 8 months more of recovery than I do and we are both on such similar paths. It was a breath of fresh air when I first met Angela!

We both have such a passion to help others on their journeys to recovery. Angela chose to never marry and have children hence she has made it her life’s mission to help others recover like she has.

Her podcast is one of the best podcasts in America, she has recovery homes for men in Kansas City, MO, she has crossed the globe to help others when in desperate need for help by means of her Interventionist skills.

Today Angela has added travel to her repertoire. She is organizing trips to exotic locations, she was just in Costa Rica with some fellow people in recovery and in the Fall of ‘24 she is planning a trip to the enchanting country of Italy.

I feel like we have been old friends since we met. I was honored to be a guest on her podcast @AddictionUnlimited.

Episode 414- Redefining Roots: Tales of Change, Estrangement, and Embracing the Unknown

estrangement is tough

Life can be really difficult at times and we really have no control.

This week I delve into recreating what you had in a different time and place and how it feels to be estranged from your child.

The past couple of years have been very difficult with one of my children and I know that this is a taboo subject but it is so real for me…it is heartbreaking.

One thing that I don't do under any and all circumstances is have a DRINK! That won't make it better but talking about it sure does.

Episode 411 with Jocelyn Chemel Canvas of Strength: Life as a Widow, Therapist, and Mother of a Blind Child – A Tapestry of Resilience and Joyful Creativity

Jocelyn chemel

Example of mandala

Jocelyn and I met when I first moved into my home in Delray.

Jocelyn lived in Boston for 40 years having moved from South Africa at the age of 21. She recently moved to Delray, and has been a creative being all her life, she is a mixed media artist.

A jewelry designer and most recently combining her knowledge as a therapist and an artist to help people find joy through “joy readings”.

"Joy reading" refers to a conversation where you explore a person's past and present experiences to discover and highlight the sweet and joyful moments that represent their essence. These conversations are then transformed into symbolic mandalas, creating a unique and meaningful piece of art for the individual to cherish. It's a beautiful way of capturing and celebrating the positive and meaningful aspects of a person's life journey.
